About Alisha

Alisha Kennedy, Child and Youth Therapist, Saskatoon

Alisha has been working with children and adolescents for over a decade in a number of different roles and settings.

Alisha has experience working with a wide range of neuro-diverse individuals and holds a neurodiversity affirming approach in her therapy practice. She utilizes a number of different strategies in supporting individuals including grounding techniques, emotional regulation strategies, self-acceptance, and working from a strength-based lens. Her therapeutic perspective is based on the philosophy that every individual is doing the best they can with what they have, and that all emotions and behaviours are serving a purpose for each individual.

Alisha utilizes a number of different therapy approaches, with a particular interest in dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness-based, and strength-based approaches.

In addition to these approaches, there is also significant importance put on the role of play, creativity and self- expression in the therapeutic setting, which is key in supporting each individual and helps create a sense of safety and well-being for each client.

She has a particular interest in working with anxiety, trauma, and ADHD. She is also interested in working with adolescents experiencing self-harm behaviours and depression.
