About Darcie

Welcome, I am so glad you are here. My name is Darcie and I am a Registered Social Worker. I became a Social Worker because I know how it feels to have life give me so many lemons that I am drowning in the lemonade I am supposed to make. I also know how it feels to have a safe, non-judgmental space to share all of this. I know how it feels to have a skilled therapist listen whole-heartedly, respond with compassion, and provide practical tools to move forward in healing.

I am passionate about helping individuals and families to experience life to the fullest by finding a path that moves from enduring life, to thriving in it. I believe the core of the therapeutic relationship is autonomy and partnership. Wherever you are at, I will meet you there. I believe we are all on a journey in this life and I want to come alongside you because every person deserves to experience the fullness and joy of life.

I have experience working with children, youth, adults, caregivers, and families in a variety of roles/settings. I use a variety of therapeutic interventions including cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, family systems theory, and narrative therapy. My practice is trauma informed, person-centered, and mindfulness-based. I also have training in play-based approaches.

I have a particular interest and expertise in working with individuals and families who have experienced medical trauma, challenging diagnosis(es), prenatal/postnatal concerns, trauma, difficulty coping, and addiction.

I offer individual and family therapy sessions to individuals ages 8 and older.
