About Kariana
Hi, I’m Kariana!
I’m a registered social worker with experience supporting children and families. My approach to therapy is based in attachment theory with a strong understanding of trauma. I believe that sessions are most successful when the developmental stage of the child is considered.I incorporate play and art into sessions in order to make therapy an engaging and enjoyable experience for the child. I believe trust and strong rapport is an important part of the therapeutic relationship, both with the child and the parents/caregivers.
My areas of interest include anxiety, self-esteem, grief and loss, social skills and changes to the family structure (separation, adding new siblings, etc).
I’m excited to be providing child and youth counselling, parent/caregiver counselling and family counselling.
