About Natasha

Hi There! My name is Natasha and I offer family & parent/caregiver counselling. I am a holistic, trauma-informed practitioner who draws upon a unique and diverse set of skills when supporting families. My interest in parenting began when I was nineteen years old while living amongst a tribe in East Africa. I noticed that the children seemed exceptionally secure, confident and that they carried themselves with a feeling of “rightness.” Curious about this, I observed the parents for several years to see what I could learn from them.
I went on to experience parenting firsthand when I became a mother of five beautiful children — including one who was adopted as an older child. I incorporated much of what I learned from the mothers in Kenya into my own parenting and became well acquainted with the joys and struggles of supporting a child with special needs. When my children were all school age, I pursued several different trainings and was struck by how they all seemed to be based on a model of secure attachment in parent/child relationships. My approach to supporting families is practical and effective, anchored in a strong belief in the capability of children who feel encouraged and safe in the boundaries and limits set by their parents.
